Deborah graduated top of her class achieving First Class
Honours for her degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture).
An experienced nurse, Deborah is well
versed in the systems of diagnosis and treatment in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and conventional medical care.
As a fully qualified member of the British Acupuncture Council Deborah maintains high levels of professionalism and
adheres to recognised codes for safe acupuncture practice. She is licensed to practise acupuncture in St Helens and
holds full professional indemnity insurance.
Deborah
studied acupuncture for three years full time at Salford University, including both theory and clinical acupuncture
experience. In her final year she won the university prize for the best dissertation in the School of
Community, Health Science and Social Care.
She
has also studied acupuncture in China at the renowned Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
As well
as working at Acupuncture Care in St Helens, Deborah is also involved in committee work for the British Acupuncture Council.
Since 2008 Deborah has been the Regional Group Coordinator for the British Acupuncture Council's North West England Group.
Deborah teaches at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York. Currently she is Year 3 Leader and Stream
Leader for Philosophy & Context on the BSc and MSc Acupuncture Courses. Deborah also has responsibilities as a tutor
involved in the teaching of Western Medicine and Chinese Medicine on the BSc and MSc Acupuncture Courses.
Deborah
also works as a clinical supervisor on the BSc Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture) Course at the University of Salford.
This involves supervising students gaining clinical acupuncture experience in the University Acupuncture Clinic.
